Former ‘Dancing with the Stars’ contestant arrested in connection with 15-year-old’s rape

Lawrence Taylor has danced his way into really big trouble.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer and former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant was arrested today, Thursday, May 6, on allegations he raped a 15-year-old girl in a Montebello, N.Y. Holiday Inn, according to a New York Times article.

The troubled star is expected to be charged with third-degree rape.

According to the Journal News, the girl was a runaway from New York and controlled by a pimp. Taylor allegedly beat the girl during the attack.

This isn’t Taylor’s first run-in with the law.

He has a history of drug-related conviction, tax evasion and last year was arrested on a hit-and-run charge.

Kenneth Gribetz, an attorney for Taylor, said Taylor would be to be arraigned later today, according to the Associated Press.

“We’re confident his innocence will be proven,” he said. What do you think?

No, you’re not supposed to look up to them as role models. Society, for some reason, has given them this distinction. I’d recommend looking toward yourself and members of your family to act as role models. Celebrities are people who make horrible mistakes, just like non-celebrities. There’s no justification for the behavior, but let’s stop trying to make celebrities into something they aren’t.
