Could Howard Stern replace Simon on “American Idol?”
The King of All Media could soon take a seat next to Ellen.
“American Idol” producers are hot to have Howard Stern replace Simon Cowell, according to the New York Post’s Page Six.
A source reportedly told the newspaper that Idol is the only show on TV that could compete with Sirius XM Radio for a contract with Stern, the highest paid radio personality on the air.
They think he could be even meaner than Cowell.
“They know he would be great TV and would clash with the other judges such as Ellen DeGeneres and the contestants. ‘Idol’ will do what it takes to sign him,” the source reportedly said.
Just think about the explosions.

Heck no I can see Howard the first time a good looking girl comes out to sing he will probably tell her to “flash” her t—s for him. NOT a good combination unless you want “American Idol” to be called “American SHOCKER Idol”.

Stern is a nasty & vulgar person. But hey, nasty is the way the show is going. Dude came out in a bikini. No class any longer. Also get some nasty girl judge.

Most who comment negatively about Howard Stern have never even listened to his show. He knows music and is an honest person who will say it like it is. He knows how to entertain, and he knows how to draw a crowd. Like it or not, he is the only person who can fill Simon’s spot.

Also, you probably like the stern show and don’t even know it…like for instance, do you watch Jay Leno? Then you have see Jay Walking, that bit was a direct lift from the Stern Show. What about the game show ‘Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?’ The stern show has claims to that one too! They were doing that game show long before the TV version. the list goes on and on…

NO NO NO NO NO NO and only then, maybe a small ‘yes’ if he can be objective and keep the gratious sexual content out of it. We’re talking singers, not strippers.

I have watched Howard Stern and all I can say is that he is disgusting, yes vulgar, and extremely degrading towards the very women he has on his show. He shows no talent, he uses “shock” to further his nastiness. American Idol will most certainly “step down” if he becomes a judge.

Carolyn could not be more off-base and baba booey could not be more right (??). Anyway, for those loyal listeners, Howard is absolutley, positively spot on and honest. For those women he supposedly degrades, take a close look. Howard usually exposes people on his show for exactly what they are. Whatever that may be. Give it a chance, Howard would be awesome. You Idol fans would forget about Simon in one episode. Only problem is the network would likely not let him be himself.

No talent? Then how do you explain turning stations into number 1 in ratings? How do you explain enabling the Sirius/XM merger? Howard is a very creative person and very talented. Just because he doesn’t shy away from topics that you might find taboo doesn’t mean he’s talentless

I cancelled my satellite radio service when XM combined with Sirius. I did not Howard in my auto or home.

haven’t watched stern in forever, but before forever, he was a nasty slimy person who degraded people not just women and his actions and language SCHOCKED people. I will not watch idol if he is on, like I won’t watch sicko Ozzy Osborne who chewed off live dove heads on stage. We need less of this influence on TV there is enough smut, and Stern equals smut, that’s how he made his bed. His tv show was eyecandy for horny men

Stern is an angry, disgusting host! Let’s just take a good family night show and turn it into all the other reality TV smut! Hey IDOL producers, “Thanks for distroying IDOL”

If you are an Idol fan, you better hope they get someone like Stern who can drum up a little controversy and keep the show interesting. We always like the villain, that is why Simon has been so successful, because he tells it like it is, even if it hurts their feelings. Without that, the show will get boring and fade away.

I think he’s great on the radio, but he’s mediocre on TV.

If Howard Stern is chosen, I won’t watch anymore. He is known to be prejudice and a don’t give a hoot attitute which he won’t have a problem with saying whatever on national tv.

Prejudice? Howard grew up in a black neighborhood, his sidekick Robin is black, He used to date Robin Givens and is known for his love of black women, and he has always been accepting of all people no matter what their race, sexual orientation, handicap, or what ever else! Maybe you’re thinking of Imus.

Stern would be the perfect replacement for Cowell. He is brutally honest, which it seems most people don’t want to hear. He may actually make idol better as he would likely call out the other judges and host for acting rediculous.
