Mac and cheese means the holiday in Springfield for singer

Here’s something cheesy: when John Legend thinks of the holidays in Springfield, images of cheese and noodles dance in his head.

Baked macaroni and cheese reminds crooner of his hometown.

The singer/ songwriter tells “Bon Appetit”magazine that he makes his famous mac and cheese when he visits Springfield for the holidays.

“My recipe is a hybrid of stuff I read in a couple of soul food magazines and advice from my mom,” he says in the magazine’s December edition. “I always have to make two batches because it’s very popular in my family.”

Legend said his favorite snacks are bananas, grapes and oranges, but he loves pan fried chicken even though he knows he shouldn’t eat it.

The Grammy award winner’s albums include “Get Lifted,” “Once Again,” and “Evolver.”
