Pick one: Smashburger vs. Five Guys vs. Red Robin
One of my food writers, Teri Horsley and I had a lot of fun comparing and contrasting the three gourmet burger chains that are concentrated in the West Chester area: Five Guys, Smashburger and Red Robin. Check out the article here.
Teri and I found things to love about all three places, but she and I agreed Smashburger had the best burger, with Five Guys a very close second - although Red Robin is to be applauded for its great variety. And I have to say, I haven’t had that much fun eating since I wolfed down a bunch of food at the Broad Street Bash last year.
Tell us which is your favorite and why?

None of those are any good. Goto Quatmann’s Cafe for a Real Burger.

Five Guys isn’t really that good. Plus, it’s VERY over priced!!

Five guys is a lot better than Smash Burger by a long shot! Five guys is a little messy but nice and juicy! They have the best fries around and plenty of them.

Smashburger gets my vote (and our money). Out of the three, they are the least expensive, and you get more for your money. Also FG’s will not cook your burger any other way than well done. ( I like myy burger Mid rare to Mid) Red Robin is my 2nd choice, however if you go on any other day than “burger night” it will cost you a pretty penny. SB only has 2 locations so far. West Chester and Blue Ash. Five Guys is over rated. And paying over $4 for a burnt burger isn’t my idea of fiscal responsibility.

Five Guys is WAAYY too expensive for a family of 4. I walked in, saw the prices and left.
