Help Middletown find another Easter egg hunt

My colleague Rick McCrabb has written a story about the organizers of Middletown’s Derrico Easter Egg hunt stepping down after 15 years, largely citing health reasons.

I join Rick’s call for someone to take up the gauntlet. Middletown has had a long history of longtime events/institutions falling by the wayside. All-American Weekend, The Manchester Inn, Sorg Opera Company, etc. It would be sad if the Derrico egg hunt made that list a little longer. Where’s the Easter Beagle, er, Bunny when you need him?

In the meantime, though, we’d also like to see readers chime in and help people find a new place to go. What are the best Easter Egg hunts in Butler/Warren counties?

I think having it at armco park was nice but the traffic situation was not handled very well. I think more property like around the airport in lebanon would be good lots of room or by the high school lots of property there for the children to hunt eggs and plenty of parking.

Why does it have to be a big community thing? What’s wrong with each family or neighbors pulling one together for their own kids? I would like to hear what the Derricos thought about the grown ups that came with the kids. Well behaved?

To null why have a MIDDLETOWN easter egg hunt outside of middletown and in lebanon that makes no sense. if we did hold it at Smith Park or if we do it by neighborhood ask the elementary school for your area to be the place to hide the eggs.
