What’s your take on the local movie theaters?

I’m working on a feature about local movie theaters - not so much your huge chains like Rave or Regal or National Amusements, but the smaller outfits like the Danbarry in Middletown, the Kerasotes in Hamilton, the By-Jo in Germantown, or the Holiday Auto drive-in in Hamilton.

What have your experiences been like at these places? Do you prefer to go to these theaters or to the mega-chains? And why do you go where you do?

The sound at the mega-chains is deafening and detracts from overall movie - especially the Rave. I wish someone would measure for compliance to EPA standards. I prefer to wait until movie is pay for view.

why don’t they put in close-captions in movie theather so deaf people can enjoy the same life as the hearing people and that it would bring in more bussiness. People has access to ramps for the handicapped so why not the deafs as we have limited activity?

I will NEVER set foot in the holiday drive in theather again. The owner runs the place like a nazi prison camp. his prices are WAY to high, his rules are extreme, he acts like a total jerk. there is one thing i am thankful for:, i’m thankful that i will not spend another dime at his run down establishment.
