Shadowbox Cabaret

Shadowbox Cabaret: The Sketch Comedy and Rock ‘n’ Roll Club is a non-profit entertainment ensemble holding auditions for singers, actors, dancers, and musicians. Full time, part-time, and intern positions are available. Shadowbox has locations in Columbus and at Newport on the Levee. OxACT: ‘Black Comedy’

Auditions for the Oxford Area Community Theater (OxACT) production of “Black Comedy” a one-act farce by Peter Shaffer directed by Scott Shriver, will be held at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 23 and 24 at the Oxford Community Arts Center, 10 S. College Ave.

Parts are available for five men (playing mid-twenties, middle-aged and elderly) and three women (two playing mid-twenties and one playing older). Those interested in auditioning will be asked to read from the script, available online here.

“Black Comedy” performance dates are April 24-26 and April 30-May 2.

Showboat Majestic: “The Musical of Musicals: The Musical”

The Showboat Majestic will hold auditions for “The Musical of Musicals: The Musical” 6:30 p.m. Monday March 16 and Wednesday March 18, with call-backs Thursday March 19, on the boat at 435 East Mehring Way, Cincinnati.

Cast consists of two men and two women, 20-50 years stage age. Must be singer/actors who dance or move well.

Auditionees should be prepared to sing a song that best represents his or her vocal abilities. Performers will also be asked to participate in character improvistions and a dance /movement audition. Headshots and resumes are appreciated but not required. Show directed/choreographed by Dennis Murphy. Musical director is Mark Femia.

Rehearsals begin May 31 with performances July 8-26. All roles are paid positions.
