Dear Mr. Boehner

The Liberty Groups of the 8th Congressional District collectively sent a letter to Speaker of the House John Boehner. The letter is critical of what the groups see as Boehner, R-West Chester Twp., not following through on a promise of reducing the national debt, which stands now at more than $14.1 trillion.

According to the letter, the Liberty Groups — which consist of tea party, liberty and conservative groups — are expressing “extreme disappointment in your choice to bring a bill to the floor and support a bill that will raise our nation’s debt ceiling.”

Boehner has said that failing to raise the debt ceiling would spell “financial disaster.”

That are your thoughts?

Here’s the letter:

Dear Congressman Boehner,

Ohio’s Eighth Congressional District is one of the most conservative parts of Ohio, if not the country. It is home to over 10 Liberty groups with thousands of members. Liberty groups from all over District Eight have united together, working to secure fiscal responsibility, limited Constitutional government and free markets in the United States.

The constituents of District Eight are proud to have you as our Congressman and as Speaker of the House. We wish you success.

As this letter is written, our national debt stands at $14,141,191,885,778.34. This debt limits the success of our children and grandchildren, and straps them with a future burden to pay for your leadership decisions. The accumulation of debt has to stop.

We are writing to express our extreme disappointment in your choice to bring a bill to the floor and support a bill that will raise our nation’s debt ceiling. Raising the debt ceiling is in direct conflict with the platform that you and the Republicans in Congress ran on in November. The Pledge to America states, “Instead of pushing off our long-term fiscal challenges, we will reform the budget process to ensure that Congress begins making the decisions that are necessary to protect our entitlement programs for today’s seniors and future generations.”

The liberty groups in District Eight hope you share our concerns regarding the negative impact on our countries economic future that more debt will create. We request your assurances, that you will fulfill your promises in the Pledge to America and not push off the tough fiscal challenges that face us. Raising the debt ceiling is not facing a problem; it is simply putting it off for another day.

We are anticipating your leadership in finding solutions to our long-term fiscal challenges.

Sincerely, The Liberty Groups of District 8

BAHAHAHA! The Tea Party lifts my spirits. I feel better about myself every time a tea party supporter speaks or writes. However, I feel sorry for the country, every time a tea party supporter speaks or writes. Hypocrisy at its best. By all means protest, and fight for what you believe it is the American right, but don’t “make stuff up” to fit your agenda. If the billionaires of this country, dare I say world, didn’t have their greedy hands in your cause, I would be more supportive. We have huge corporations getting HUGE tax breaks, but to ask them to pay their fair share is unfair, right? Yet, you wonder why we are left to cover the tab. Tell Kasich the Koch brothers send their best.

“Wont,” or is that “Mr. Conned” (whatever) - that’s a cute conspiracy theory, right up there with “9-11 was an inside job” and “the moon landing was faked.” It would be nice if billionaires were financially supporting us; we could all quit our day jobs. The reality is that the nationwide Tea Party movement is a grass-roots bottom-up movement, made up of average folks who have decided, many for the first time ever, to become politically active beyond votng every two years. You don’t have to agree with our politics, but try not to display your ignorance by suggesting we are somehow astroturfed in the manner of many leftwing organizations and groups. Please come to a meeting and see for yourself; any of the Butler County Tea Parties would be delighted to have you be a guest for an evening meeting.

You Tea Party folks and your followers need to get a life and face up to the legacy of George Bush. It will take years to dig out from the mess he left the American people with. We are going to have to grow ourselves out of this mess… and not cause a second recession by following your silly simplistic solutions.

Dear Mr. Boehner. We’re getting killed as people learn more and more about us, and put the American experience in proper historical context. In the 1990s, after Clinton raised taxes on the wealthiest 2%, job growth exploded. There was even job growth after REAGAN GAVE THE BIGGEST PEACETIME TAX INCREASE IN HISTORY, WHICH WE’RE NOT ALLOWED TO ADMIT AT OUR RALLIES. But what’s worse, job growth ended and a recession began after Bush lavished tax cuts on the wealthiest. These are the simple facts. We’re looking for leadership from you. How do we hide these facts? We’re too witless to merely chant slogans when people try to engage us on these issues. They’re starting to see through the slogans. HELP.

Mr. Speaker: I support you. I do, however, have one issue- Big business is not patriotic in my book. I see them as greedy. They sold out America for the buck. They should come back progressively and take the financial loss to bring good things back to America and stop supporting China who, in reality, has no regard for us and is getting rich off of us! Beyond that, Mr. Boehner, I support you and certainly don’t support the liberals with their George Soros, Van Jones, Cass Sunstein, Rahm Emanuel. Ol Rahm was problably sent to Chicago to make sure the vote scam continues in favor of Dems up there both State and Fed. wise.

What kind of people has risen out of the fire in this country. Rahm Emanuel and his brothers, Cass Sunstein, Van Jones, George Soros, Mayor Bloomberg?! These people want to take our guns and gun rights! They believe that government should run the people instead of the people running their government! They believe in government growing out to control much of our individual, daily lives! They want to open borders and become more mult-national! They want to allow the United Nations to tell us what to do regarding our personal guns and rights! What kind of govt. do we have? I want America to stand as her own entity and grow to the great nation we rightfully are! If you all jump off one end of the teeter totter the other end will fall. That is what has happened with big business. Come back to America and act like you know what you are doing!

I respect Speaker Boehner and believe he is heading in the right direction. I don’t like BIG government. One of the commentors above, Mrs. Williams, was all over the page. She is right about loyalty to America being traded for profit. The characters she mentioned are either powerful and rich or pulled into the picture by the OBama charade. I don’t trust these characters nor will I ever support them. I believe Speaker Boehner is right to cut government expenses. Perhaps not at the expense of the sick and the elderly. Most certainly cut the liberal fake global ecology funds and the healthcare bill funds. Then recreate non-invasive healthcare plans that does not force anything on the American citizens or gives Fed. Govt. money or power to do so.

What mess did Bush cause Merrell? Please elaborate? Wouldn’t it be hypocritical for SOME folks to accuse Bush of fleecing (or embezzling from)the people he worked for? Meabell: Amen Sister! Wont B Conned; Since the rich and the corporations pay ALL the dang taxes, who do you think it would benefit when you make a cut? The bottom 50% of wage earners only pay about 4% of the total tax burden. The top 50% of wage earners pay the other 95%!!!! What would you consider a fair share? Buy a vowel dingbat! You’re simple facts are those of a complete loon. Just so you know…EVERY single time in US History that tax cuts have been given to the wealthy, gross revenues have increased to the FED. How do you explain that??? Tea bagger misery: Reagan cut the top marginal tax rate from 70% to 29%…. Nice try though, but another ignorant rube! AND, Clinton’s refurbished 1999 Community Reinvestment Act almost single handedly caused the Housing Bubble to burst. PAY ATTENTION! Mr. Stidhap: Are you really sugesting the businesses of America should DELIBERATELY take a loss to provide people jobs? That’s the DUMBEST thing I’ve heard in weeks!

Create a flat federal sales tax on everything but food. No more state, local or federal income taxes period. With a nationwide sales tax everyone will pay their fair share. No breaks, cuts, discounts, etc. Why should the wealthy be able to hide behind corporations with their personal purchases while the majority can’t?

By President Robin Hood

They can’t Grant. Sales Tax is a point of sale tax. Did you know that the “Wealthy” pay almost ALL the taxes in America? The top 5% of wage earners pay about 92% of ALL the taxes, while the bottom 50% of wage earners pick up about 4%. Statistically, those at poverty level pay virtually ZERO in taxes. I could stand behind your plan, but it would essentially have no affect on the wealthy and raise taxes considerably on the poor and lower middle class.

Just the facts- You verbally attack Mrs. William’s views which may be simplistic, yet, realistic from her eyes. Our business world has made great profit by producing and keeping their wealth in China. If our Feds adjust some of the corporate taxes, it may encourage our big business to invest in equipment, training and jobs here at home again. My hat is off to Ms. Williams. It most certainly would be a patriotic thing to do, big business.

I see John Boehner as the right man for the job. What a mess we have in Washington! While I believe we must be selective and respectful to all our fellow human beings, I think we have the right to be prejudice against Islamists if we so choose. Islamists believe in a God that is NOT my God. They want to bring a Sharia Law to America that I WILL NOT accept. Our constitution will never support such foolishness. I am not politically correct! Politically correct is for followers that have no rooted convictions of their own. These mosques should be monitored by Homeland Security for possible terrorist attacks. Now back to Speaker Boehner- I believe he is on the right track by cutting or starving the healthcare bill. Starve, repeal or just burn the bill. It is no good for America. The thought that huge government controlling the healthcare industry is just wrong. Government need not control every aspect of our individual lives.

President Robin Hood: Where do you get your numbers? The gummymint? That 92% you speak of is from their employee’s, not themselves. I don’t know any “poor and lower middle class” that can afford 180 rounds of golf in a year or could even wish of dropping $1 million on a yacht to travel around the world. Or how about that company car that has never been anywhere near the company parking lot. Fact is the tax rate for the wealthy is closer to 2% after all the forms & schedules are done.

I believe in John Boehner and support him 100 percent. I don’t like this political correct foolishness that says we are in the wrong for sticking to the old ways. My religion says Jesus Christ is the God of this earth and we shall put no other Gods before him. I won’t accept that Islam garbage nor do I trust they are here in good faith. Islam shall not take over this Christian Nation! No Sharia Law will exist in America! Enough of that. A budget must be passed that cuts billions, starves Obama’s healthcare bill and does NOT cut social security benefits for our elderly!

A Ceremony for the last WWI vet, Frank Buckles’ remains to be honored in the Capitol Rotunda, has been held up by Boehner. Once again, this jerk (Boehner) has shown that in his arrogance he has 0% - yes ZERO RESPECT for those who fought and died for his rights, freedoms and vast riches in the service of their country! While the bodies of prominent citizens have been displayed in the Rotunda on 30 occasions, starting in 1852 with Henry Clay, a longtime senator and congressman. Others include President Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, unknown soldiers from America’s wars and civil rights hero Rosa Parks, this jerk (Boehner) whom most of us voted for, has refused to allow this. Boehner spokesman Mike Steel said the speaker would seek Defense Department permission for a ceremony for Buckles at Arlington National Cemetery, outside Washington. I believe that that is what we should seek for Boehner – to be “OUTSIDE WASHINGTON! I will certainly vote against this arrogant free-loader of the Lobbyists!

i believe we could fund some of the states woes especially for education and educators if someone would investigate and PUBLISH where all the lottery money goes! it is susposed to go for education but who knows there is no evidence and no one will talk about it! what is the secret? i ould love to see a listing of the places where this money is used. i know one teacher told me when i asked that they are given rules each year what to spend it on, not on what is needed. they said at the time i asked that it had to be spent on dictionaries! not for much needed other things. i aqsked if someones relative owned a dictionary company!

Grant, throw rates out the window and just listen. I could care less if it’s two percent or 90%. Of ALL the dollars collected for income taxes in America, 95% comes from the top 5% of wage earners. Do a little of your own research, and quit hawking this Joy Behar crap.

Nagmag, the Lottery money still goes to the schools for use in their General Fund. The schools can use the money as they see fit. The problem is, the Ohio Legislature uses a formula to determine how much each school should get each year, and the school gets the dollars from the State MINUS the lottery money. In other words, if Middletown High School is entitled to 10 million operating dollars, and their cut of the lottery is normally 1 million dollars; the State would only give them 9 million, making the total budget 10 million. In the early days of the Lotto, the states added lotto money ON TOP of the regular operating dollars. Using this example, Middletown would have gotten 11 million total. The legislature is doing what is called “supplanting” funds. and it’s ILLEGAL for private businesses to do. In fact, the OHIO Supreme Court has declared the way the Ohio Legislature funds schools illegal, but the Legislature chooses to ignore the ruling. Isn’t that convenient for them?

Well Null and whom ever can bash Boehner if they want. I will stand up for him and they have to come through me. Boehner is a decent man and is fully aware of the pathetic, socialist leaders we are up against in D.C. They want to silence our free speech, Ms. Clinton can have her other source of news, I want Beck and Rush along with my evening Dayton news. I have known Boehner 20 years and I know he respects our service men. What I don’t respect is that imam wanting to build a mosque near our Trade Tower location. The Islamist cult is something I won’t support or allow near me or my property!

Its amazing to me that most if not all right wingers/tea party groups all have the same gripe and the same lack of solution to any issues at hand. You throw around terms like liberal and socialist to demonize anyone that doesnt agree with you. Well its time that you realize that your own party has caused the last 10 years of troubles on our land. It was your beloved GWB and his group of felons and traitors that buried our country in financial and domestic issues that we may never get away from. You idiots gave GWB your credit card to spend as he saw fit (all in the name of being all american/gun toting/flag waving/red blooded/reagan loving) and after he maxed it out to the last penny you want to cry about being in debt…wake up and smell the coffee will you please.

While I supported George Bush I felt he was weak and not digging in where he needed to. Obama seems to be from another planet. He is politically correct, has buddies like George Soros, Van Jones and Cass Sunstein to bring about a lie such as the global warming to get us taxed more, to take away our gun rights and such. They want us to accept that Islam trash that expects us to be stupid and accept them with their Sharia Law. I will not accept them, I won’t allow them near me, nor would I ever sell them land to build their mosques. My God is Christ who warns us of worship of false Gods. Boehner is O.k. in my book. Boehner is a good man and he knows we expect him to be serious about getting big govt. down to size. Obama wants it big so his corruption can go far, his control over society would be successful. So go, Mr. Speaker, cut that budget down. The Obama healthcare plot is worthy of the trash can. It will tax us and use our Fed dollars and then control our healthcare at all ends. Our govt. should not control the whole healthcare industry just as it shouldn’t control General Motors. Speaking of General Motors, Obama is hooked in with that union and it don’t smell right. Yes, I support John Boehner!

I agree with Mr. Felter regarding the purpose of the many mosques. I will not mention Mr. Felter’s little spelling error. The mosques are a place of worship for the Muslims/Islamists. Part of their belief that they choose to deny is how they feel about Americans and Israel. I am not a politically correct person. I believe I should be able to allow smoking in a night club I own, I believe we should go in like gang busters and see what is going on in these mosques. I believe Obama and that Rahm Emanuel have a belief that government should run society rather than the people have the freedoms they choose.

With the corruption within the Administration such as John Podesta and George Soros team up to attack our gun rights and forging ahead with that net neutrality thing even though Congress does not support FCC involvement with the internet. I am not pleased with our President and certainly don’t recommend support for him in 2012!
