Fox gets a new day in court
The new court date in U.S. District Court in Cincinnati for former Butler County commissioner and former state legislator Michael A. Fox will be in April 2011.
Just last week Fox pleaded not guilty to federal charges for allegedly receiving about $460,000 in kickbacks in exchange for helping Robert C. Schuler, a Columbus-area attorney, land a multimillion-dollar county contract.
Schuler is Fox’s co-defendant in the case. Fox also faces mail fraud, conspiracy and filing a false tax return charges. Schuler faces conspiracy, filing a false tax return and perjury charges.
The original trial date was set for Oct. 4. Fox’s attorneys, Ralph Kohnen and Aaron Herzig, have claimed the case is a politically motivated.
Do you believe the claim is politically motivated?

Politically motivated? Let’s just examine the cast of characters. Fox, we know who he is. His co-defendant Schuler, the son of a long-time Republican state senator. Fox’s lawyer, the son of a long-time chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party. The judge, Sandra Beckwith, a long-time Republican state court judge. What could be political about this case. The only question is will this cast of Republicans ever bring this case to trial at all.

What “is” politically motivated is pushing this trial date back until after the November elections! What a shame that the rest of the Butler County gang of Republican cronies will not get exposed to the public until after they vote. You can bet some serious influence peddling has been used to delay this trial…including Boehner’s. Wake up Butler County, one party rule breeds corruption, conflicts of interest, nepotism, cronyism, no bid contracts, influence peddling and unrestrained spending.

“one party rule breeds corruption, conflicts of interest, nepotism, cronyism, no bid contracts, influence peddling and unrestrained spending.”……exactly why Cossoule should not go to Washington as Obama’s one party rule is too much.

So we agree. Butler County’s one party Republican rule needs to change. Checks and balances are needed, especially in light of our recent GOP history here in Butler County.

Geez Jim, I had better start following the “Liberal News Media” a little closer, I must have missed the the passing of of a new law that must state that its no longer legal to be a Republican

Hey slightly right … you are slightly right. Fox says the prosecution is politically motivated. I don’t see a liberal or Democrat in sight. Do you? If you do, please inform us. I’d like to know how this case is politically motivated. That was the question.

The smart money says he squells. More people will go down, OR else he’ll live out his life behind bars (income tax evasion is pretty black & white). To date we just have honor among thieves.
