Butler County roundup - Tea Parties, trains and Jolivette

I’ve been lax the last few days in updating the blog. Apologies. Here is a sampling of what I’ve missed (on the blog, I mean. I didn’t miss the stories. I wrote them):

  • A story this Sunday explored the groundswell of grassroots movements starting locally, including Tea Parties and progressive PACs. This accompanying story outlines their first likely battle: Health care reform.
  • This story in today’s paper outlines the local Republican party’s endorsement process, coming up soon, and what it means for the race for county Commissioner Gregory Jolivette’s seat.
  • This story provides an update on the 3-C cross-state passenger train. Looks like both Hamilton and Middletown may be left out of the first phase.
  • And finally, some good news. Here is an inspirational story about Judy Good, who runs the food concession at the Government Services Center.

There have been a couple other things, but these are the big ones.

Any thoughts on any of this?

I am a long time county employee and have seen the numerous backdoor dealings of the county commissioners, the county personnel office, Mr. Derek Conklin and the republican political machine of Butler County. The worst criminals do not have to carry a gun, the power of the pen can harm more people. All 3 current commissioners’ need removed from office due to the crimes committed by former county administrator Derek Conklin…for any of you out there that didn’t think the 3 commishes weren’t aware of his attempted early buy out scandal…you are wrong!! Amazingly no one was held accountable for multiple raises….folks these are crimes being committed with your tax dollars…where are the so called investigative reporters….you are being robbed with the swipe of their pens…How can we forget about their appointment of Fox as a Child Welfare Director…what an embarrassing joke…if any of you folks think you are smart enough and want to piece together a huge scandal… start with the county employee record of Donald Richardson…fired from 3 county jobs but somehow manages to get another !!! This is butler county in a nutshell…people are hired for who they know…people are are fired for not being loyal to the “good ‘ol boys”…not hard to prove…make your vote count… vote for real reform…vote for educated professionals to run the county…not uneducated, unprofessional career politicians. Jolivette is more like Boss Tweed!!! get rid of him!!! Folks just look what is going in Cuyahoga County in the past year and you can ditto that for Butler county…wake the hell up!!!!!
