Ballard, Coleman on awards “watch lists”

The preseason honors are rolling in at Ohio State. Some of the Buckeyes on early “watch lists” include:

TIGHT END Jake Ballard was named to the 2009 John Mackey Award watch list released by the Nassau County Sports Commission. Given annually to the best collegiate tight end, the award recipient is selected by vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee and the 2009 John Mackey winner will be announced on Dec. 10.

SAFETY Kurt Coleman was named to the 2009 Jim Thorpe Award preseason watch list. He is recognized as one of 31 of the nation’s best defensive backs.

QUARTERBACK Terrelle Pryor, the 2008 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, was named to the 2009 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award (The O’Brien) Watch List. The recipient will be honored Feb. 15, 2010, at the 33rd Annual O’Brien Awards Dinner at The Fort Worth Club in Fort Worth.

RUNNING BACK Dan Herron was named a candidate for the 2009 Doak Walker Award. The award is presented annually to the nation’s top college running back.

KICKER Aaron Pettrey has been named to the 2009 Lou Groza Award Watch list by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission. The list includes 30 of the nation’s top place kickers.

It sounds as though the Buckeyes have some talented youngsters … Let’s Go Bucks and TBDBITL ! Hopefully ,The Rose Bowl in 2010 Jan 1st or Jan 7th for the BCS National Championship which is also at the Rose Bowl .

It’s good to see Jake Ballard getting some recognition. Hopefully he will get more balls thrown to him so he can show off his hands.

lost another biggy,they should be in division 3,maybe they can beat wittenburg,go cincinati bearcats
