Maurice Clarett: Blogging!

ClarettJail.jpg

Bob Hunter, sports columnist at the Columbus Dispatch, has uncovered a gem. Maurice Clarett, the disgraced former Ohio State running back, has started a blog from prison as a forum to share his thoughts.

Clarett’s blog — The Mind Of Maurice Clarett — has so far not featured anything about which Ohio State and football coach Jim Tressel would have to answer. But it’s likely only a matter of time.

Several of the entries describe Clarertt’s desire to improve himself. In one, he talks about enrolling in college classes. In another, he lays out his upcoming workout routine, which he hopes will help him drop pounds from his current 233.

I must admit that making convenient excuses to eat during the holidays has helped the increase. I have to get it all back in order now. I have a new weight goal; my goal is to weigh in at 210 lbs. by April 1st. I know it is possible and it can be done in a healthy way. Here are eight things that I plan on doing:
1. Strength train four days of the week.
2. Cardio for two hours daily and agility training forty-five minutes daily.
3. Core train with a thousand sit-ups daily.
4. Eat no food after 6 p.m. every day.
5. Fast all day on Sundays.
6. No sugar and no flour on Mondays and Tuesdays.
7. Eat only fish, rice, and oatmeal for the first 30 days.
8. Drink water and coffee only.

Clarett also folds in inspirational quotes from Warren Buffet and responses to comments. The first entry seems to be from Oct. 7, 2008, titled, “Transcending Ignorance and Supporting Humane Living.” In it, he writes:

It is my hopes that someone will pull something out of here to help them get through their daily living.

The sad part of all of this is how talented Maurice Clarett is. Here was the #1 running back in the entire nation, and a group of Racist Republicans destroyed him. On top of it, you have schools like Florida and USC that pay most of their players to play and they never get any penalties. How about that Reggie Bush guy, his parents took a free house and money to let their son play for USC. Yet, the NCAA hasn’t said a word about it. I personally think that the NCAA is a bunch of moral cowards. Shut down Florida and USC for 5 years with sanctions and you MIGHT just starting cleaning out the system.

Excuse me? Racist Republicans are to blame for Clarett’s problems?? What are you blathering about? This might be the stupidest thing I have ever read in a DDN comment section.

Why not he’s got nothing else to do. Poor sap thinks he is still in training. Maybe the NCAA is finally taking a stand to rid out these criminals. Racists come in all colors, religions and political parties.

What Arnold means, is if I were president at the time he wouldnt be in jail because I look out for people who have no desire to take care of themselves. Thats why government is great, I can reward those who dont contribute to the nation and its all paid for by those who have made something out of their life. Government is GREAT!

Obviously Clarett did not take to heart Tressel’s “The Winner’s Manual” that each player gets each year. He did listen to Jim Brown’s advice on “How to F….your life up in one easy lesson.

Why read the Winner’s Manual? Clarret is a winner. He’s got three hots and a cot, he gets a free gym membership and he can finally learn to read and write. With guys like Arnold out there looking for scape goats like Republicans everyone who gets welfare should get a “Whiner’s Manual” You can always tell a racist, be they white or black, because once they start talking it’s always someone else’s fault

No person, Republican or otherwise, has made anyone get drunk, load the car with weapons, and then go for a spin! Leave it to ignorant Obama voters to blame the Republicans for their problems and not doing what they need to do. Mo C. had, and probably still has, a load of God given talent. Hopefully he can turn his life around. Barack Obama cant do it for him like so many of these chuckleheads expect! Let me guess…now you’re mad that I said “God” in a post and wasn’t referring to our president. Get real.

No… Arnold was just weeding the racist out. I love to hear just how much Dayton hates us blacks. I say let’em speak. I know what they think behind our backs, but they smile and act friendly to our face. What a joke just like MC!

Think MC is playing tight end or wide receiver after being in prison this long? Your gonna have to think to get the joke, so you dems need not even try.

Where the hell is he anyway? Is he in prison or spa! I cannot believe he has the number of opportunities to do half the things he is doing. He has internet, can eat certain foods on certain days and has a workout facility equal to none to use and honest people would have to pay for.Sounds like he is being pampered and not penalized for his crimes.

This week, Columbus Dispatch columnist Bob Hunter is reporting that it isn’t just some nut, but the real Buckeye behind these posts: “Inmates don’t have computer access; his mother, Michelle Clarett, confirmed yesterday that he calls his blog entries to family members who post them for him.”
