The first modern political campaign
William Henry Harrison was the first presidential candidate who actually campaigned. That was 170 years ago. He won. He was 68 years old. He was a Whig. The Whigs had bad luck. Harrison died 32 days after he was inaugurated. His two hour long inaugural address in poor weather probably didn’t increase his longevity. The next Whig president, Zachary Taylor, became the second president to die in office. The Whigs truly had bad luck.
There’s a great new biography of William Henry Harrison. To read my review click HERE:

Amazing that the gent only lasted a few days after a big win in the election. I, too, agree that the current election is quite important for our future. President Obama is not within the average range of Presidents we have had. To stand and tell Israel to go back to pre-1967 borders showed disrespect for the Bible and Christianity as well as for the Jewish people! I most certainly want OBamacare put in file 13. I expect dishonesty in the campaign with Rahm Emanuel back in Chicago where elections have been tampered with in years past. Back to the book- It sounds tempting to pick up!

The book sounds interesting and I would most likely look for relevant issues to the current campaign. I believe the Presidential campaign brings us to a fork in the road. We decide if we want freedom and liberty or socializism and maybe dictatorship. Our country may even lose it’s identity to become just part of the world order. I don’t want any of this! I want Obama removed from office, his czars tossed out, I want the United Nations to know that our Constitution stands and their efforts will not come before it. I want the borders closed and assure people come to America in a proper manner. Obama must not win this election!
