That overdue book…
Have you ever checked out a book from a library and forgotten to return it? I have been to many garage sales and found what were apparently overdue library books for sale. I always make a point of needling the sellers about it; hey, why are you selling this book? Your delinquent fines must be astronomical by now?
Then there are the books that actually get returned after a long time. Here’s a recent one; somebody checked out “Best Crime Stories - Vol. 2” from the library back in 1984. They just returned it. To read the story click HERE:

A lot of libraries actually don’t always remember to mark a book as cancelled when they dispose of it, and then sometimes someone will later return that book to them.
