Voila! a Michele Bachmann book deal announced…
A few days ago I wrote a blog post about Representive Michele Bachmann’s announcement that she is running for the Republican presidential nomination. At that t1me I wondered if she has written any books. I wasn’t aware of any. Well, she is apparently going to publish a memoir. According to the New York Times:
“Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota has made a deal to publish her memoir, selling a book to Sentinel, a conservative imprint at Penguin Group USA, two people familiar with the negotiations said on Thursday.
Ms. Bachmann, a Tea Party favorite who announced her presidential candidacy during the Republican debate on Monday, has been shopping her memoir for weeks, meeting with several New York publishers to discuss a possible deal.
The book is tentatively expected to be released this fall. John Fund, a columnist for the Wall Street Journal, will assist with the writing of the book.
One person who saw Ms. Bachmann’s proposal said the book was largely biographical, an account of the formation of her political and economic ideas. Ms. Bachmann was “very impressive” in her meetings with publishers, winning over the skeptics in the room, the person said.
Publishers submitted pitches to Ms. Bachmann that included publicity and marketing plans. House members are allowed to receive royalties from book sales but not advances.”

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I would vote for any Republican nominee for president who is running against Obama. Obama is the worst president in U.S. history, and his policies continue to run our country into the ground. No matter who is writing Michelle’s book, I couldn’t care less. What counts is her stands are directly opposite of Obama’s, and if she was elected she would put us back on the right track. That’s what counts. I also like Herman Cain and right now I’m liking what I hear from Santorum.

And Nancy Argenziano. She’s a Republican I never heard of before today, but I have HUGE respect for her. Google her to find out what Florida’s most honest Republican has to say about her party’s values.

You’ve never heard me criticize Dick Lugar, Lamar Alexander, Mike Johanns, Andrew Sullivan, Scott McClellan, Paul O’Neill, Jim Leach, William Weld, Larry Pressler, Dwight Eisenhower, Everett Dirksen … sorry, I ran out of living Republicans to praise. It’s not easy when most Republican office holders aren’t really Republicans. Southern Democrats run your party, and the world is worse for it. Obama could have been one of your best presidents ever, instead he’s one of our worst.

Mark, I don’t have the time to google dirt on people, but thanks for stepping up to the plate. Are there any people out there that are worthy enough for you to like them?

Chide me for reading the news all you like Raoul, Google will provide you with no shortage of links to that story about Fund’s depravations. I’ve even had an email exchange with Mr. Fund about this (he insists he never beat Melinda, but didn’t deny he told her to get an abortion). I’ll leave it to you to figure out why Mr. Fund was the obvious choice to write a book with the very moral Michele Bachmann. I may not like her politics, but I’ve never heard of anyone questioning her sincerity or family values. John Fund, otoh, has almost no defenders other than his coworkers.

Good call Vick. Apparently Michelle should have checked with Mark before deciding who to co-author with. He has a dossier on everyone.

Wow. Wow, wow, wow. I just learned who’s writing Bachmann’s book for her: John Fund. The same John Fund who notoriously had a long-term relationship with Melinda Pillsbury before taking up with her daughter, Amanda Pillsbury. apj.us/sc20010904connolly.html I hope Michele’s got enough sense to keep him out of her house and away from her daughters!

Michele is somewhat unknown so publishing a book might be her way of getting the info out there about her political stands, along with her voting record, of course.

Figures…she was impressive in the debate. Then, she shows the world that she is motivated to sell a book. Politics as usual.

Good for Michele. I’d never vote for her, but she’s showing Tim “Gov. Bridgefail” Pawlenty up for the ideological fraud that he is, and she’s giving Palin supporters a look at what a strong independent minded candidate really looks like.

How many foster kids does she have? Wooo. I like most of what I hear from her. I’m not going to agree with everything anybody says. If she is the GOP nominee for president, I will definitely vote for her.

“Ms. Bachmann was “very impressive” in her meetings with publishers, winning over the skeptics in the room, the person said.”………Skeptics, huh??? Let me picture this. A darling of the far right, who has embraced all kinds of loony conspiracy theories, visits a publisher whose senior editor has, in the past, been involved in publishing books by flame throwers such as Ann Coulter and Michele Malkin, in addition to bigots like Haley Barbour. And there were supposedly “skeptics in the room” to be won over?? Somehow, I can’t envision a robust and spirited discussion in the conference room at Sentinel about the merits of publishing anything by Bachmann. What were they skeptical about? Her lunacy should fit like a glove with some of their other publications in recent years.
