You might consider discarding your cell phone…

After watching this video. Perhaps you have seen it already? I hadn’t. While the participants seem quite amused I had a different reaction; sheer terror. This video has a sort of HG Wells meets Orson Welles “War of the Worlds” element going on. Microwaves are us.

OK, and here’s the link that disproves it all: click HERE:

I’m so gullible. That reminds me. I actually believed Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass distraction based on evidence as flimsy as that cell phone video. I’m so naive.

Just throwing in my 2¢ worth for a free and independent Kurdistan. Who the UK and France jammed together is past due for some subdivision, just like the old Soviet Union was.

Vick, I think the Kurds validate my point since they were killed by Saddam’s WMD. The “mission accomplished” banner was an acknowledgment of the USS Abraham Lincoln completing her 290 day deployment. Sadly there are still a large number of our boys in Iraq and Afghanistan. Iraq did just have a fairly peaceful election, things are better there every day. Afghanistan is a work in progress. Pakistan seems to be more cooperative lately, perhaps due to Mr Obama’s influence, so hopefully that will help crush the Taliban and Al Queda.

Irish, you begin by saying that the Kurds “fell for it.” I’m not sure that Kurds who passed away years before our leaders claimed that Iraq had WMD actually could have believed much of anything from their non-existent vantage point. I mean, they were already dead, right? That seems to diminish the validity of your point, Irish. Although I understand your approach you could have left out the Kurds. The Kurds missed all our WMD speeches.Do you remember how they marched out Secretary of State Colin Powell to validate their fake evidence? And he isn’t too happy about that. How are things going over there in Iraq? Aren’t you glad that George (WMD) Bush declared that “mission accomplished” in Afghanistan years ago? How many of our soldiers are over there right now?

Don’t feel bad Vick, your not the only one who believed Hussein had WMD. The dead Kurds, gassed by Hussein, fell for that one too. As did the intelligence services of England, France, Russia, China, Israel and Egypt. Not to mention Bill and Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry, John Edwards, Harry Reid, Colin Powell and all the Democrat representatives who voted to authorize the war. I hope that makes you feel better.

I’m no expert, but I know from my cable install days that I was never harmed by signal. This issue has been studied for 20-30 years with no proof of harm, as of yet. I do know the signal will mess with my monitor a couple of seconds before my cell rings. It is possible, but as the technology improves, I don’t think it’s too likely that we’ll discover harmful side effects.

Whether it is fake or real is beside the point. The elephant in the room, the one we choose to ignore, is this: how safe are cellphones?

Yeah, I don’t suppose a company with an interest in cell phones would be too thrilled by this video. I realize the Bluetooth technology is supposed to protect users from microwaves so they would certainly object to this video whether it is genuine or not. I’m not a researcher. I’m a consumer. Now excuse me while I go heat up my cell phone and prepare some snacks. I have videos to watch….thanks, for the heads up.

By this is fake

Vick - perhaps you should do a bit of research before you post - this video has been shown to be a fake out out by a company that makes Bluetooth products. http://www.snopes.com/science/cookegg.asp
