Should Obama dump his Treasury Secretary?
After two days down with a nasty flu bug I was not in any mood to read about the shenanigans of Tim Geithner, our Secretary of the Treasury. I was never a fan of Geithner’s and I’m even less so now.
Read this article from Bloomberg News and see if you don’t think that it might be high time for Geithner to go: click HERE
Since Tuesday I had felt too far beneath the weather to do any blogging. I didn’t have the energy to read a book or even a newspaper. All I could do was stay in the bed and groan. I’m better now. Thank you. On the mend.
Our frequent commenter “Mark from St. Paul” just cheered me up with a link to an article about books to watch out for this year. click HERE:

Can’t we just get rid of the whole administration and start over?

Glad to hear your better Vick, wondered about the lack of activity. As far as Geithner is concerned, did you really expect ethical behavior from a tax cheat?

Thanks, Raoul. I think I might still be somewhat delirious though because for a moment there I thought you had described the Democrats as “heavyweight.” I must be hallucinating?

Glad you are feeling better Vick. Regarding TG, well, glad to hear you are outraged. After 1 year, there appears to be a pattern of Obama appointees either stepping down under scrutiny, or on the verge of stepping down. I wish the vetting process was as enhanced by the mainstream media when it comes to Democrats as it is with conservatives. The media is still vetting Sarah Palin a year plus after the elections, but it took Fox News to uncover the mess with ACORN and others. Now, there is a good chance heads will roll with TG and some of the Homeland Security folks. Democrat voters have every reason to be outraged at what is going on with their elected officials. It makes the dissapointments experienced by Republican voters pale in comparison. When it comes to a ‘culture of corruption’ the Dem’s remain the undisputed heavyweight champions of the world.

On the subject of Geithner, at least, I think we all can just get along.

Barry Ritholtz at the Big Picture is not much of a fan either. You should take a look at his book Bailout Nation. The sad thing about Geithner is that he and Larry Summers are beholden to a “science” that is anything but. The fundamental foundation of economics is that humans make rational decisions. We all know how that works out…

Geithner will continue to serve as Treasury Secretary as long as he serves the interests of Goldman Sachs. He and former Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson[former Goldman Sachs CEO] should be thoroughly investigated. Goldman Sachs not only received full payment from AIG, but was transformed from an investment bank to tarp eligibility overnight. The six million in campaign contributions from Goldman in 2008 was probably coincidental. If one wants the truth,Congressional hearings should take place after time spent on the”board”….Glad you are feeling better Vick!

Geithner saved this country? Well, if there is any truth in the allegations being made in this Bloomberg article it is a guy like Tim Geithner who was instrumental in concealing the problems he has now supposedly fixed.

you may not like TG, but the man all but saved this country from going into an all out depression. the country is not in great shape, but i believe president obama and his team pulled this country out of a all but assured depression. look deep into where we were heading before this administration all of you complaining out there.
