Amazon cuts price on Kindle again…

The Amazon Kindle electronic book reading device from Amazon.com has been in the news a lot lately. The Kindle has only been around for a year or so and it is being upgraded and enhanced. And the price keeps going down. Amazon just announced that some new Kindle devices will be capable of downloading books outside of the United States.

Good points, Mark. Amazon has cut the price twice over a short period of time. They are attempting to broaden the demand by making an international version available. The proprietary nature of the device seems to spell doom for the Kindle however. Amazon is trying to maximize sales before the market becomes saturated with more flexible, and less proprietary devices. This should be interesting to watch…

Sony and Apple are getting ready to release tablets that will undercut and outperform the proprietarily-shackled Kindle. The earlier Kindles won’t even read .pdf files, and we all know about the “recalled” book fiasco.

Won’t be long ‘til they can download straight to our brains. Kindle prices should really drop then.
