The Studio Fitness is a great place to workout having fun. You burn calories having fun with their classes and mingle with good caring folks that encourage you on your fitness goals. After the melting-fat-workout I love to enjoy a protein shake on their cool station… YOUR BODY NEEDS IT! Studio Fitness-give it a try!!! highly recommended!!!

No Planet Fitness? That’s my favorite place to burn calories. It’s only $10/month and the staff there is friendly but doesn’t bother me or try to sell me “training packages.” I’ve found it to be a great place to work out without all the posers and meatheads bugging me.

I can’t recommend The Edge Kettlebell Gym highly enough! It’s the only gym in town that I’m aware of that has actual certified RKC trainers. Kettlebell training is really FUN, it scroches calories like nothing else (comaprable to running a 6-minute mile), incorporates strength, cardio conditioning, and flexibility training all in one making it one of the most efficient forms of exercise out there. Try the Edge for the most fun and effective workouts around!

The Edge is by far the best in Dayton. I have tried others, but Shane and Nicole have really helped me in my quest for total fitness. Thanks to them I can do more at 47 than I could at 27.

I have been doing Zumba for five years. I lost 20lbs. the first year and have kept it off. At Studio Fitness I do not feel like I am working out, and trust me I am working up a sweat. Love it. can’t wait to go back for more. Judy Welker

I can’t tell you how much The Studio Fitness has changed my life. I started going about 4 1/2 years ago and continue to go at least 4-5 times a week. I look forward to the energy and the people there. I love the instructors and the people who go there are great as well. The weight classes are challenging and the Zumba is awesome! They are definitely the best!

The studio fitness classes are amazing, tough and fun. You can tell the instructors are more experienced than most. The facility is very well maintained and the juice boy is crazy cute.

Any of the CrossFit boxes (CFWright-Patt, Practice, Huber, Vigor, Troy, or Centerville) beat out ANY on the list for sweat per time working out!

Thanks to CurvesSmart, I get the hardest workout ever, in the least amount of time, at Curves. With the computers on each machine, I stay focused on my workout and know exactly how many calories I burn, usually over 500! I don’t know about you, but I can always find 30 minutes to get away from the stress of the day and take care of me for a change. Try it yourself, you’ll be glad you did.

The Edge Kettlebell Gym is most definitely the best place to burn calories in Dayton. Every boot camp or kettlebell class is a serious workout, but is also a whole lot of fun. The classes are different every time so it’s never boring to come to class, plus all of the people who work out at the Edge come from different backgrounds, fitness levels, and age groups and make it a very enjoyable experience. Shane and Nicole are two excellent, dedicated instructors, and in just 5 months, I’ve already learned a lot and greatly increased my athleticism. Working out at the Edge is the highlight of my day!

The Vandalia Recreation Center is the best place around! Not only are their fitness instructors the best in the area, they are unbeatable with price! I can take a group fitness class for just $5! I love how welcome I feel in each class and the instructors and other participants notice when I miss class. It’s so motivating! I LOVE THE VRC!

My family loves everything about the Vandalia Rec Center. We could spend hours there, playing together in the aquatics center, cheering each other on at the rock wall, or each doing our own thing (kids in Luther’s Jungle & adults in fitness center). The VRC makes it fun to burn a lot of calories while playing together!

Cardinal Fitness in Huber Heights should not be on this list! This location is arguably the worst in the Dayton area. I was there working out one day and looking to use the 35-pound plate. I was informed that the manager of the club hid them in the storage room. This was an apparent attempt to teach members a lesson rather than asking them to return them to their proper place. No joke, true story! This was the talk of the gym for a week or so. There is some shenanigans going on there. The employees aren’t allowed to speak with members, but the manger always talks to me and the other ladies when we’re on the ellipticals. What’s up with that? I would love if the newspaper would check into this and do a story on. I would not recommend Cardinal to anyone. Someone please open a new fitness center in Huber. Thank you!

The Vandalia Recreation Center is absolutely wonderful. The staff is welcoming and the facility is a great place for the whole family to stay healthy and active. I love that I can get my workout in and get a shower in their (very clean) facility before heading to work in the morning.

Vandalia Rec Is the best. I absolutely love the Zumba and Dance Fusion classes. The teacher Lisa is amazing, she is constantly changing routines and challenging us all young & old. She makes class so fun with the music she uses and all the energy & personality. Brandi the fitness supervisor is great always trying new things adding classes , she listens to feedback and uses it for the positive! VRC rocks!!!!!!!

Zero Gravity is a unique cross training facility that has challenged our entire family to improve our overall fitness like no other gym. There are a variety of classes, conveniently scheduled; the staff is well-trained, knowledgeable and courteous; the facility is clean and well-maintained; the equipment is top-notch and works every area of the body. The price is affordable and we have a choice of paying per class, per month, or annually. Though our family has different fitness goals - from competitive high-school athlete trying to improve overall conditioning, to just developing general cardiovascular fitness and strength - we have each found a place where our goals can be met in a safe, fun, challenging and professional environment. And best of all, we can do it together.
