Sex line number printed on Ochocinco’s cereal - thanks Pittsburgh
Honest mistake or another case of Pittsburgh sabotage (see Kimo von Oelhoffen)?
You decide …
The Pittsburgh-based company that designed and distributed Chad Ochocinco’s cereal “Ochocincos” printed the number to a sex line on the box, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported this morning.
Instead of sending callers to the Feed The Children charity, the number on “Ochocincos” is answered by a seductive-sounding recording saying things like “We can be whatever you want us to be” and “It is your fantasy.”
The charity’s number is 1-888-HELP-FTC, but the geniuses at PBL Sports used 1-800-HELP-FTC instead.
Nice quality control, PBL.
But, maybe there’s a perfectly logical explanation.
Perhaps there’s a cereal coming out for Ben Roethlisberger and the company just mixed up the numbers?
Kroger Co. told the Associated Press today it was pulling all Ochocinco cereal boxes from its grocery shelves because of the error. Ochocinco told WCPO-TV that the number was clearly a mistake and he’s sure that the maker will fix the problem, according to AP.

So to all of you that think Chad is sad, or want him to go away, then you have no idea what you are talking about. You must just be jealous or something. He is promoting himself, just like any other athlete, movies star, and so on. The man does not drink, do drugs, or get into trouble with the law ala Ben R, Ray Lewis, etc…he has fun, he takes the game seriously and he celebrates his accomplishments. You don’t see him taunting players to their faces or anything like that. He plays the game to have fun and he appreciates his fans. How many athletes fly fans to away games taking care of all accomodations, how many athletes take 85 people out to dinner in every city they plays in? Chad is the only one I know of for sure. So continue bad mouthing him or whatever you want, but he is truly one of the better role models of all professional athletes and entertainers today!

It’s funny that you pick on a guy that is clearly a great role model to kids in the sport of football and he does not bring his personal life into the game but you are quick to pick on anything to make him look bad…COME ON!!! His kids???? WOW if that is all you can come up with to try to make him look bad or make yourself feel better about yourself than what ever!! But I did jut read on facebook that he was flying to L.A. to spend time with his kids…

5 kids by five different mothers shows that he is disloyal, undisciplined, irresponsible, immature and sees women as sex toys. You call this guy a role model? Are you kidding? Is this the best this nation can come up with now? Pathetic.

This article reflects another pathetic, jealous Bungle fan. Do you actually think a corp would risk their reputation by doing something so stupid (yes, i think it was stupid) to p*ss off fans of a nfl team? Oh, yes, foiled again by old nasty pittsburgh , get real. Say what you want about Ben R. he won 2 super bowls in 4 yrs, if he was a Bungle, Cincy would love him. Remember folks: Steelers: 6 Lombardi trophy’s Bengals: 0

Actually he and TO put themselves on the internet once a week to communicate with fans.. they will even call you if you leave a number.. Just saw T.O. call 6 people and have conversations with them last night. And Ochocinco got a cell number and put it out on facebook.. he texts back to as much as he can and will sometimes answer the phone when he can.. Id say their “high horse” really inst that high.. RESPECT

Ocho dingdong is NO role model for anyone except for his mirror. Popping out kids with as many women is typical. It’s a good thing he has a job. There are young kids out there without fathers who are in their lives. A mother with a slew of kids without support from the donors hurts, and the only support is from the Gov. I say Military, Police, Fire Fighters are REAL role models.

Its a cereal box and a print mistake - people in the media industry are not bright, we all know that. To take a cheap shot at Pittsburgh and Ben is classless. Then again, Ken is part of the media. Perhaps he is trying to get a spot on TMZ?

He may not be a role model on the family side of it but in the sport of football he is. All of the players in the NFL were not picked to play beacuse they sdress nice or because they are nice to other people or that they only have one child with one person they are picket to help the team win.

Lots of possible reasons for the typo in the phone number. Chad’s own reps may have provided that number themselves! Switching the 888 and 800 is actually a common error. I know the blogs on the site are more for opinion than a typical news story, but I think this particular entry crosses the line. Sometimes a typo is just a typo - not part of a football conspiracy.

The Steelers actually heard about Ochocinco’s, called the company and told them to intentionally make this mistake - Kimo is the VP of Conspiracy for the Steelers and he ok’d this sex line number… Our Pirates stink but at least they have won multiple world series, the Penguins are the best team in hockey and the Steelers will win an unprecedented 7th Super Bowl this year, so I am not exactly sure what it feels like to be from a town (an entire state actually) that can’t win anything EVER

who care if he is a bad guy or not. who cares if he has 10 kids to 10 different mothers. that has nothing to do with a mistake that the media is responsible for. and now since ben is an idiot and made a few mistakes in his time every sexual act that goes down on tv with another nfl athlete is automatically ben’s fault? if the company is taking all of the cereal off the shelves why the hell even bring it up. NO POINT!! now if people have more time to judge another, and criticize another, yinz are no better than the media. it was an honest mistake that ANYONE could have made. get over yourselves and let the man live his life.

Paxson takes a pathetic cheap shot at Ben, basically because the Bungles had their once every 10 years playoff season last year. See you folks in the playoffs again in 2020. Oh by the way, no charges were ever filed against Ben, can’t say that about too many Bengals players, their roster reads like a police blotter.
By insight
October 3, 2010 8:04 PM | Link to this
Last I saw, neither Ben nor Ray were found guilty of the charges, so we should really just lay off. They have nothing to do with this story. It’s easy to critcize someone, but what would we do if we had the same opportunity. Several jumpoffs are always trying to trap athletes, so that is nothing new. If there was a typo on the box, then correct it. If Chad had 80 kids by 80 different women, as long as he takes care of them, then who cares. He isn’t using your tax dollars. By the way, at least the cereal box is endeavoring to help the Feed the Children charity. What have you done?

Who cares. These idiots get paid way too much money to play with a ball and most cannot spell their own name. Save your money folks and do something productive with your time rather than watching grown men play with a ball. Here’s a thought, spend your tube time educating yourself; you’ll increase your marketability and save some money.

Yeah, this stuff happens sometimes, and yeah, it’s mostly deliberate on someone’s part. I remember the one a friend ended up hitting on 1800GMTruck. We laughed it off at work the next day when he told about it, but I’m pretty sure GM was not amused.
