Bengals sign Texas teammates Shipley, Muckelroy
Third-round pick Jordan Shipley has agreed to terms with the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting.
The Bengals have also signed linebacker Roderick Muckelroy of Texas, one of two Cincinnati fourth-round selections in the 2010 draft, according to a press release from the team. Muckelroy was the 131st overall selection.
Muckelroy was a two-time first-team All-Big 12 selection for Texas. He led the team in tackles each of the last two seasons, as the Longhorns compiled a 25-2 record. Last season, he contributed to a national best rushing yield of 72.4 yards per game.
The Muckelroy and Shipley signings mean Cincinnati has now signed 7 of its 9 2010 draft picks.
Also signed are CB Brandon Ghee of Wake Forest (third round), DT Geno Atkins of Georgia (fourth round), G Otis Hudson of Eastern Illinois (fifth round), WR Dezmon Briscoe of Kansas (sixth round) and C Reggie Stephens of Iowa State (seventh round).
