Bengals rookie wins honor; Galloway in for workout

Rookie running back Bernard Scott has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week by the NFL, according to a press release from the Bengals.

Scott returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown to help lead Cincinnati to an 18-12 victory at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. In his first action as the No. 1 kick returner this season, Scott returned five total kickoffs for 206 yards (41.2-yard average) at Pittsburgh. The last Bengal to win an AFC Special Teams Player of the Week award was wide receiver Tab Perry in Week 13 of 2005.

In other news, ESPN is reporting that the Bengals had 3 players in for a workout Tuesday.

The most notable name of the group is wide receiver Joey Galloway. The Ohio State product was released by the Patriots earlier this season. Cincinnati also worked out defensive tackle Ed Johnson and safety Mike Doss.
