Free Bengals tickets being given away as TV blackout lifted

Cincinnati Bengals fans now have a choice - take a shot at getting free tickets or watch the game live from home.

The Bengals announced today that Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans at Paul Brown Stadium will not be blacked and will be aired live locally.

The Bengals, Local 12 (CBS affiliate WKRC-TV in Cincinnati) and Motorola worked together to ensure the blackout would be lifted. As part of this plan, Motorola will give away 1,200 tickets (600 pairs of tickets) to Bengals fans for free, starting at 11:30 am Saturday at the North Ticket Office (next to the Bengals Pro Shop) at Paul Brown Stadium. Motorola is a long-time sponsor of the Bengals and has a newly aligned partnership with Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco.

For Saturday’s ticket giveaway, complimentary parking will be available in Lot D, located on Mehring Way east of Elm Street. Tickets will be given away on a first-come, first served basis to fans 16 and over.

“We are thrilled with the response from our fans, Motorola and Local12, and we are pleased that Bengals fans across the region can watch our game on Sunday,” said Katie Blackburn, Bengals executive vice president. “We have great fans, and a sold-out Jungle will give us a real home field advantage.”

The lifting of the blackout means that the Bengals will extend to 47 their franchise-record streak of consecutive sellouts for regular and postseason games. The streak is now sure to reach at least 48, as the next home game — Oct. 25 vs. Chicago — had previously been declared a sellout.

Sorry “bengals suck”, first a 4-1 record doesn’t suck. Second, When all the tickets are sold, it’s called a sellout.

Ok for all you bengal “fans” why do you always have to have someone bail you out to have the game on tv? If you all were true fans then you should go buy the tickets yourself!

Bengals have to deeply discount tickets to sell out when they are in first place…..very sad. Texans victory will start the Cincy reality check…8-8, 9-7 at best

Hey Jason, I go to more steelers games per year then all these “fans” I go to at least 3 a year in Pittsburgh, and the one in Cincy!

I would rather share the stadium with Houston than Pittsburgh. At least they will have their front teeth and not be as wide as the buses they ride in on and slosh beer down your neck and spew filth.Oh and maybe they won’t walk 10 abreast lock arms through the halls like a fat-assed black and yellow toothless wall.

Steelers fans, find something else to do. Just because you are a front-running, slack-jawed, Mountain Dew-swilling hillbilly and love the steelers because that’s the only winning thing you’ve ever had in your life..doesn’t mean we have to read your idiotic comments. I used to root for the cowboys whilst a child, but I grew up and quit rooting for the “winning” team (at that time) and rooted for a local team.

To “bengals suck”: Any event is a sellout if all the tickets are sold. It doesn’t matter who buys the tickets. Also, if you don’t like the Bengals, don’t watch their games. No one is forcing you to watch. Read a book. Or practice your typing and learn the wonder of capital letters.

Steeler fans in Dayton are shallow bandwagon fans. Had the Steelers ownership put them throu h-ll the past 18 years like Mike Brown has done to Who-dey nation, they would have left long ago. You never saw any Steeler fans around here until being a Steelers fan was fashionable. Steeler fans are blow hards. They’re faces the other week in PBS after they loss was priceless.

I can only hope that there are some Youths, who may have never been able to attend a Pro football game if not for this action, in the crowd on Sunday. I remember being taken to a Reds game at Crossley field by The Optimist Club and how being there gave memories I would not have had…. I hope all goes well for the Bengals this year I think they are more for the Community than the Community is for them…. things will change….

What the nerve of bungles fans on here. To claim that Steeler fans are hillbillies is really funnny. Just look at your surroundings, southwest Ohio is made up of white, trailer trash that are only fans when the bungles are having a “winning season.” Please its not like they won the super bowl or will be anywhere near it.9-7 at best. It happens every season, get all the “fans” wound up just to let them down at the end.

I don’t know if it’s Mike Brown or who sets ticket prices, but when they can’t sell out when having a great season, they need to lower them. The economy sucks and a lot of folks would love to attend the game if they could afford it. Owners are greedy and salaries are ridiculous. Think of the revenue lost if they don’t get royalties from TV coverage (probably the real reason for Motorola & co’s generosity).

THE BENGALS SUCK! they only do that black out crap as a resource to sell more tickets! Thats like saying we’re tearing down mcdonalds if we dont sell 500 Cheeseburgers today! of course everyone is gonna run and buy cheese burgers so that doesnt happen,. and the sad part is everyone falls for it. its stupid, yea maybe if the benGALS was a good team it’d be worth it. I think they need a black out to show them the fans are tired of being let down year after year. Of course they wasnt gonna black it out and they didnt sell enough tickets So what we gonna do now?? Oh yea have chad say he bought the tickets for the fans so he gets more publicity. because thats what he needs right? the whole team is a joke!

This shows that Chad really cares about the fans. despite his on-field and off-field antics, he really cares about the game and the fans who are both there and watching on TV. Just for that, I’m gonna buy one of his jerseys and wear it with pride, knowing that he cares.

The more trash Steelers fans talk = the more worried they are that this is the start of something bigger for the Bengals. Keep it up Steeler fans. It gives me more hope for my Bengals. It also confirms why I never liked the Steelers.
