DVAC hits fund goal early

A year-end gift from the Dayton firm Element Utility Service LLC has lifted the Dayton Visual Arts Center to its 20th anniversary campaign goal of $40,000 six months earlier than expected.

Eva Buttacavoli, who succeeded Jane Black as director on Dec. 1, 2011, said pledges are still coming in.

Located at 118 N. Jefferson St. in Dayton, DVAC exhibits and markets works by Dayton area artists. It is a non-profit organization that receives funds from the Ohio Arts Council, Culture Works and the Montgomery County Cultural District.

Its gallery is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
