Dayton dancemaker in lofty company

Dayton-born choreographer Dwight Rhoden will share a program with dance legends George Balanchine and Paul Taylor when the Indiana University Ballet Theater performs Oct. 7 and 8 on the campus in Bloomington, Ind.

Rhoden’s “Dear Frederic,” to the music of Frederic Chopin and Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji, will be performed between Balanchine’s “Concerto Barocco” and Taylor’s “Company B.”

A former member of the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Rhoden is founding artistic director and resident choreographer of New York-based Complexions Contemporary Ballet.
