Fraze subs Chocolate for Russell
Leon Russell has been scratched as the opening act for Bob Dylan’s Aug. 5 concert at Fraze Pavilion in Kettering.
The Grammy Award-winning Carolina Chocolate Drops, who forged a local following earlier this summer as a featured act at the 2011 Cityfolk Festival, will fill the opening.
The purveyors of African American old-time country stringband music have previously played MerleFest and Bonnaroo, appeared in the Denzel Washington film “The Great Debaters,” played on “Prairie Home Companion” and were the first black string band to appear on the “Grand Ole Opry.”
For ticket information, call (937) 296-3300 or visit www.fraze.com. Fraze Pavilion is located at 695 Lincoln Park Blvd.
