Films of local interest to screen
Two films with Dayton connections or special interest will get special screenings in other Ohio cities.
“True Nature,” a feature shot in Dayton by Wright State University film graduates Patrick Steele and Ann Rotolante, will be shown at 11:35 a.m. Monday, April 2, in the 35th Cleveland International Film Festival.
The Wright State University Alumni Association Cleveland Network will host a reception with the filmmakers to celebrate.
Discounted tickets for WSU alumni are available for $5 and include both the screening and the reception. RSVP no later than March 24 by calling (937) 775-2620, by emailing Kathy Kuntz at kathy.kuntz@wright.edu, or online at www.wrightstatealumni.com.
“Out of Place,” a look at the unlikely underground surfing community of Cleveland, which dates back almost 50 years, will have its Columbus premiere at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, at the Gateway Film Center.
Ron Kaplan, founder and chief executive of Dayton-based Surf Ohio, will introduce the film and lead a Q&A session after with directors Scott Ditzenberger and Darrin McDonald. For more information, go to gatewayfilmcenter.com/coming_soon.
