Singer casts vote for DPO’s ‘Rocks’
Mary K. Sullivan, a member of the Syracuse Symphony Pops Chorus, said she wishes she could be in Dayton to see the Dayton Philharmonic Pops concert Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12 and 13, at the Schuster Center. Time is 8 p.m. both nights.
She read about the concert online and offered this unsolicited testimonial about a show she was part of last winter:
“I cannot say enough good things about this concert with this quartet of unbelievable singers. It was one of the best I’ve ever done. I’ll never forget sitting at rehearsal trying to get my chin off my lap! Capathia (Jenkins) is absolutely stunning. Rob Evan (who, incidentally is also the lead singer for Trans-Siberian Orchestra) and Anne Runolffson do a duet that will have your goosebumps in overdrive.
“As a fan of Broadway music, this was a stupendous concert,” said Sullivan, whose day job is quality assurance specialist for an insurance company. “As a musician, it was an absolute honor and a joy to perform with this group of singers. Bravo! Broadway, indeed, Rocks!”
Tickets are $22-$76 at (937) 228-3630, (888) 228-3630 or www.daytonphilharmonic.com.
