Fraze ranks 14th in world

Fraze Pavilion in Kettering ranks 14th in “Pollstar Magazine’s” mid-year worldwide ticket sales report.

Reported Tuesday, Aug. 10, the rankings are for ticket sales at the top 50 amphitheaters around the world for events between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2010..

“Wow,” said Fraze general manager Karen Durham. “We’ve certainly never been this high on the mid-year list.”

Fraze was higher than larger amphitheaters in Los Angeles, Baltimore, Dallas, Phoenix, Houston and Atlanta. Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati ranked 22. By comparison, Fraze finished 2008 and 2009 at number 51.

Fraze is great!! And hey, FYI - the whole ban on lawn chairs around the perimeter was instigated by the owners of Norton’s!!!! Yep. Heard it from Fraze inside management. No surprise that Norton’s now charges for patio seating…eh? That place is run by a dishonest person - who deserves public heat for shutting down the public “vibe” of the Fraze.

If it’s that good then someone needs to let James Taylor know so he’ll come back. Out of the 4 times I’ve seen him his show at the Fraze back in 97 was the best! It’s about time!!

I’ve never seen a nastier, more “power-mad” group of people than those who work at the Fraze. I wonder why the city of Kettering finds it necessary to hire someone who DOESN’T EVEN LIVE IN OHIO, let alone in the Dayton area to head the Fraze? All the jokers who act as “traffic control” and security think they are cops of something. Hey Ms. Durham, try getting someone that people want to see NOW, not 40 years ago….puhhleeze!
