Where’s Jim Bucher?
If you don’t see Jim Bucher on Channel 2’s 6 a.m. broadcast, don’t worry.
You’ll likely see him even more on WDTN’s noon and 10 p.m. broadcast.
‘He’s still going to be on,’ said News Director Steve Diorio. ‘He’s going to be really expanding his role here in the station.’
Diorio said Bucher will be doing other projects for the station in addition to his popular, ‘Bucher’s Beat.’
Some of the projects will have ‘community-oriented elements,’ Diorio said.
‘Honestly, you’ll probably see him a little bit more than he’s on now.”

Who cares about Bucher…does anybody know why Kim Faris is now working afternoons on Lite 99?

I like Jim. He has his own unique style of humor. He brings a lighter side to a serious business. Most of the news is always bad but Jim finds a way to brighten the mood. I was also wondering why Kim is now on afternoons.

The only thing I like about Jim Bucher is that he is from Dayton, and that he LOVES Dayton as much as I do; Other then that, yuck. The only reason he is still on TV in Dayton is because he is from Dayton, and probably couldn’t get or maintain a job in a larger market.

I love Bucher! Why do you all have to be so negative? I agree that most of the news these days is bad, but you can always count on Bucher to be silly and lighten things up. I hope he stays on WDTN for a LONG, LONG time!

I like the “Buchers Beat” segments, but when he cuts up in the studio during the news and weather broadcasts it has a tendency to become a bit much…IMHO

Everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinion. Each on-air person is just that…their own person. They each have a unique style with everything from their tone to their personality. You can’t please everyone. What one person loves is what another person dislikes. Though there are a few haters, most people enjoy Bucher’s segment, if not for his crazy personality, but mostly for his strong commitment to community endeavors Like it or not, Bucher’s Beat is a successful, positive segment in the Dayton market.

Bucher is the shiznit he does so much for Dayton and he has a fandangtastic personality! Maybe some of these depressed or bo-polar people can not appreciate great entertainment and someone with a good heart but the people that pay taxes and are employed can appreciate Bucher. Fandangtastic job Bucher!

I like upbeat news, but Bucher is the reason I didn’t watch channel 2 in the a.m. Now I have a reason not to watch it at all. He just tries too hard to be funny and it comes off as being stupid.

Personally, I find Jim Bucher as entertaining as fingernails on a chalkboard. But, I do know how to change the channel when he comes on. Channel 2 has been in a slump for years, and it seems unlikely to change. They need to start from the top down and bring in new faces with fresh ideas.

Kim Faris, was on WING for years. New owners came in, moved her to a sales job. She worked it for a while, didn’t like it, then 99.9 came a calling. Said they wanted her to do afternoons. So she went OK Thank You WING and left them. Simple enough to figure out..who ever ask about her, should ask her in person when they see her out at radio things for 99.9. She will tell you same thing as what I just posted. AND YES I know her and her family very well.

@CatsMeOw- We may be on meds, dude, but you NEED glasses. They fired Mark Pompillio then hired this…this “woman”. People I talk to are in agreement; if my dog looked like her, I’d shave his butt and teach him to walk backwards. Please, go see an optometrist. SOON!!!

I like Bucher. As he once said, he adds the comedy to the show. They need to get rid of all the high fiveing females. You feel like your watching a high school pep rally.

Easy there, Doc. Men like Candice Hunter. Stick to discussing cross-stiching & cats to the people you talk to.
