Cruz-in at Limaland
NHRA drag racer Cruz Pedregon is playing in the dirt this weekend. With the National Hot Rod Association off, the Brownsburg, Ind., resident is swapping his Funny Car for his late model to prepare for the Prelude to the Dream.
Pedregon plans to run Limaland Speedway tonight and Fremont Speedway in Sandusky County on Saturday. He also plans to run three shows at the end of May, including the Johnny Appleseed Classic at Eldora Speedway on May 30.
“That’ll be my pre-Prelude practice,” Pedregon said of the charity event that features professional drivers competing in late models at Eldora. “There is no question about it, I’m going for the win. I may finish 10th or 20th, I don’t know, but I’m going for the win. I know my skills are limited from the standpoint of experience, but I think I’ve closed the gap with some of them.”
Pedregon finished sixth at last year’s Prelude to the Dream.
