ARCA RE/MAX rookie fastest in practice

Grant Enfinger, 23, driving in just his third ARCA RE/MAX Series event this season, topped the speed charts during Friday night’s practice session at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Ky.

Enfinger turned a lap of 30.689 seconds at 175.595 mph in his beasleyallen.com Ford to lead the field.

Current series points runner-up Justin Lofton of Westmorland, Calif. was second fastest with a 30.826-second 175.177 mph lap in a Toyota.

Alli Owens, of Daytona Beach, Fla., drove her Toyota to the third quickest lap of the session at 30.862 seconds, 174.972 mph.

Current points leader Parker Kligerman of Westport, Conn. was fourth quick at 31.055 seconds, 173.885 mph.

The ARCA RE/MAX Series’ “Click It or Ticket. Buckle Up! Kentucky 150” stock car race is scheduled to follow Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World event.

Tickets remain on sale at the Speedway ticket office, starting at 1 p.m. Saturday at the main gate.

Skinner fastest in NASCAR Truck practice

Veteran NASCAR Truck Camping World Truck Series driver Mike Skinner was fastest in Friday’s afternoon practice session at Kentucky Speedway.

Skinner, of Ontario, Calif., turned in a lap of 31.603 seconds around the 1.5-mile Kentucky Speedway tri-oval for a top speed of 170.870 mph. The 2008 pole qualifier won the “Built Ford Tough 225” race in 2007.

Second quickest in Friday’s session was Mooresville, N.C. driver Brian Scott with a 31.764-second, 170.004 mph lap. Toledo native Terry Cook was third quickest at 31.781 seconds at 169.913 mph.

ARCA RE/MAX Series stock car practice is currently under way (as of 7:30 p.m. Saturday).

The “Built Ford Tough 225 Presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers” will take place Saturday night at 7 p.m. Qualifying takes place at 3:30 p.m.

According to a Kentucky Speedway press release, tickets remain and will be on sale at the track starting at 1 p.m. at the Main Gate.
